September/October 2026
School has started, and some routines have been established for both kids and adults.
In this edition, you will find information on equipping your teen with skills that can prepare them not only to further their education, but also to go straight into the workforce. Our Town Magazine wants to help educate parents and students alike by providing information from the Lexington Technology Center and the Lexington/Richland 5 Center for Advanced Technical Studies. Both are an outstanding
addition to their districts, offering classes such as Firefighting, Culinary Arts, Nursing, Welding,
and even Aerospace Engineering. These schools are a wonderful resource for any student looking to further their education on a specific subject.
The Local Authors piece is a nod to a few of our amazing writers who have published their own works. The writers who are a part of Our Town Magazine are, in my opinion, some of the best. They are real people who live and work in this area. This is something that we pride ourselves on, as AI-generated material seems to be taking over the world and filler “wire” articles are abundant. We appreciate the
human element and the attention that local writers bring to our publication.
The Home Series focuses on the water, electricity, and propane services everyone uses and how we can save money on each. Groceries are expensive, so we are looking to help you save money whenever possible.
If you have extra funds, we humbly ask that you get involved. Our Town Magazine is all about giving back to our community. This month, we bring you the Lexington United Methodist Church’s Snack Sack program that feeds children throughout the school year. The article highlights the real need for food, funds, and volunteers to help keep children fed.
Now…Are you ready for some foootballlll??? I have been hearing from so many people about how they are counting down the days until football season begins. For all of you, please enjoy the USC and Clemson schedules within and remember to keep the banter friendly. I hope you enjoy some amazing food and even better company this season!
Please remember to support the businesses within, as they are the ones who keep
the magazines hitting your mailboxes, and we could not be more grateful for their
continued support.
As always, I hope to see you out and about!
